Who is ex-Partner Charlie?

739458_blues_alley.jpgIn K-Ville, Charlie Pratt (played by Derek Webster), an NOPD officer, could no longer take the stress and the despair of post-Katrina New Orleans.  He abandoned his job, his duty, his city and his partner. When he tried to explain to Marlin Boulet, his ex-partner, why he left, it sounds like the only thing he didn’t abandon is his family. He said he left to take care of them.

In the pilot, Charlie was seriously injured while trying to redeem himself. I wonder if it’s possible to redeem himself after leaving like he did? Do you think there will there be a deeper story about Charlie this season?
